Big Tank TV College Football Players of the Week!

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
University of Cincinnati wide receiver Mardy Gilyard (Bunnell, Fla.



















Gilyard hauled in nine catches for a career-best 177 yards and two touchdowns in UC's 28-20 win over Fresno State at Nippert Stadium on Saturday. He finished with 226 all-purpose yards and had touchdown receptions of 11 and 23 yards from quarterback Tony Pike to lead a Bearcats offense that was on the field for just 16:18.
Gilyard was awarded a helmet sticker by Lou Holtz on ESPN's College Gameday Final Saturday night, and is also one of four finalists for the AT&T All-America National Player of the Week.
UC, ranked No. 10 in the latest Associated Press poll, returns to the field on Saturday, Oct. 3 at to face longtime rival Miami (OH) in the 114th Battle for the Victory Bell at Yager Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. and the game will be available online at ESPN360.com.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

University of Iowa Linebacker Pat Angerer Bettendorf, IA








Angerer, a 6-1, 235-pound senior from Bettendorf, posted a team-high 14 tackles against Penn State and recorded his first interception. He returned the fourth-quarter interception 38 yards, setting up an Iowa touchdown. He also forced a late game fumble to help assure the Hawkeye victory. It's Angerer's second league honor. He earned Player of the Week honors following Iowa's win over Wisconsin last year.
Angerer was also named Linebacking Performer of the Week by the College Football Performance Award committee.
